Die talentierte Sängerin aus Luzern verarbeitet
schweizerdeutsche Lyrics mit ihrer kraftvollen,
flexiblen Stimme und viel Groove zu Ohrwürmern.
Dabei steht sie nicht nur am Mikrofon, sondern ist
auch Produzentin, Komponistin und Songwriterin
in einem.
Carmabylon‘s Musik ist geprägt von Einflüssen aus
Jazz und Reggae. Dabei fliessen regelmässig
Elemente aus westafrikanischer Musik sowie
Genres wie Dancehall, Hip-Hop, R'n'B, Pop, Trap
und Afrobeats in ihre Produktionen ein.
Als Supportact von Phenomden liess Carmabylon im
letztes Jahr bereits die Schweizer Bühnen beben. Im
Sommer 2024 folgte ihr erstes Album und 2025 steht
im Zeichen von live Shows in der ganzen Schweiz. Im

The Passion for the music
Creativity, innovation and a lot of dedication. This is the
formula that makes Selecta Iray touring from Dancehall to
Dancehall and from “fete to fete”. The title “selecta” instead
of “DJ” was therefore chosen intentionally. It means to have a
strong focus on the selection of the music in the first place as
well as the presentation of music, taking listeners on a
journey.
Therefore Selecta Iray manages to convince with a fine chosen
selection of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca and Afro Beats – well
fused with recent Urban-Tunes, Latin Hits and refreshing
hostings on the microphone – and has established himself as
one of Switzerland’s leading and most versatile DJs in the area
of Caribbean and African Music. Combining music from
different areas of the world always was important to Iray’s
Selections, since 2009 his sets always include songs independently from where they come form.
Sharing the Reggae-Love
Doing his first steps in a few of the smaller Clubs in Lucerne, Selecta Iray alongside with the Uppressor’s
Soundsystem catched the scene by storm and managed to bring Reggae & Dancehall back to the bigger
Clubs and on the larger stages Switzerland. By doing that Iray and his crew proved themselves not only
as an able DJ, but also as an event promoter, concert organizer and patron of several new Artists, of
whom he also accompanies/accompanied a few as tour manager and backing-DJ all over Switzerland and
neighboring countries. Currently he is touring with Samora, Carmabylon and Rita Roof.

The Soca Ambassador
In 2014 Selecta Iray was the first DJ in Switzerland to start the official “Soca Fever”, accompanied by
several Events which focused exclusively on Soca Music. ”Catch a Soca Fever” - A Slogan with which he
managed to finally bring the Caribbean SOCA Music back to the Clubs in the German parts of
Switzerland, especially Lucerne and Zürich. Having its peak point so far in the internationally known
“SWISS SOCA FESTIVAL” which is hold once a year.
More than a DJ
To his vast number of references Iray counts not only shows all over Switzerland and abroad, but also
Mixtape Projects and Engagements as Radio-DJ at Radio 3FACH (Lucerne), RadioIndustrie (Zug & Zürich).
2017 he founded his own radiostation Jam On Radio (up till today Switzerland’s only station for Hip Hop
and Reggae).
In the name of “Uppressor’s Productions” he also proved a good flair for music productions since 2010.
For the latest Projekt “Never Stop” (2015) and “Di Alarm” (2019) he collaborated with musicians from all
over the world, such as Reggae Legend Lee Perry, Jamaican Reggae Star Anthony B, Crosby (Southafrica),
Straika D (Martinique), Samora (NL), Scrappy (UK), Cookie the Herbalist (CH) and he also opened
opportunities for yet unknown artists to prove their talent. In the meantime Selecta/DJ Iray was playing
Shows, not only in Switzerland, but also Holland, England, Ghana, Uganda, Spain, Slovenia, Germany or
Japan.
